Principals and Deputy Principals Conference

The second Conference for Principals and Deputy Principals of CEIST was held from 28th to 29th November, 2007 at the Clayton Hotel in Ballybrit, Galway.

Many thanks to all who attended - your active participation ensured to the success of the conference. Many thanks also to all of our speakers for their insightful presentations and workshops, some of which are available on the website.

Schools Relationships Management Team

Following the handover of Mercy West schools to CEIST at the end of November, Damien Kennedy and Tom Loughnane have already begun school visits. We look forward to building further on our contacts made at the Conference in Galway with you all, in due course. Thank you for submitting the School Statistics Forms on-line. We would appreciate receiving the remainder as early as possible.

ADVENT

"Happy New Year"

As we begin our journey through this new Liturgical year we also begin our journey into our future together in CEIST.

If our CEIST schools are to continue to be:

"faith communties of welcome and hospitality where gospel values are lived" (CEIST Charter p.16)

Website Domains

It is a good idea to register your domain name under a number of suffixes, examples include .ie, .com, and .org (non profit organisation). It is actually quite cheap to register a domain name, prices range from 10-20 euros to lease out for 1yr and you can lease a domain name for maximum of 10yrs in advance. The CEIST website is registered under www.ceist.ie, www.ceist.com, and www.ceist.org and this ensures that our CEIST name is not used by any other organisation under these domain name suffixes.

If you wish to register an Irish domain (.ie), the IE domain registry is www.iedr.ie and the site provides useful information on registering domain names. The following link http://whois.domaintools.com/ will allow you to check out the details of a domain and to check if the domain name you wish to take is in use or not.

We would like to wish all in the CEIST community a Very Happy, Peaceful and Blessed Christmas.
