CEIST is the new trustee body for the voluntary secondary schools of the Daughters of Charity, the Presentation Sisters, the Sisters of the Christian Retreat, the Sisters of Mercy and the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart.

CEIST Third Annual Education Conference

The Third Annual Education Conference for Principals and Deputy Principals of CEIST was held recently in the Fels Point Hotel, Tralee, Co. Kerry.

Notschool.net Initiative

Notschool.net is a new Internet based initiative for the small number of young people who are out of school for a variety of reasons which may include phobia, bullying, behavioural difficulties and exclusion. 

CEIST School Principals on RTE

The Principal of Coláiste Bríde Presentation Secondary School in Clondalkin, Ms. Marie-Therese Kilmartin recently appeared on RTE 1 Prime Time to discuss the impact on schools from the budget cutbacks.

In association with the Holocaust Educational Trust of Ireland, The International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem, Jerusalem, invites members of the clergy and school chaplains in Ireland to participate in an expenses-paid one week seminar in Israel.

Presentation Clonmel 12th Annual Awards

Presentation Secondary School, Clonmel celebrated the 12th Annual Presentation Awards for Excellence in St. Mary’s Church, Irishtown Clonmel for the students recently.

The awards acknowledge the tremendous achievements of the girls across the whole spectrum in education in the school.    


Sancta Maria Louisburgh Achievements

Congratulations to the Sancta Maria Irish Debating team of Louise Scott, Sinéad Ní Chonceannain, Fiachra Reaney agus Máire Ní Cheallaigh.
Fuair siad an Iámh in uachtair ar Choláiste Thuir Mic Éadaigh agus an Scoil Ghraiméir Sligeach le déanaí.
Tá siad ar an mbealach go dtí Scéilp na hÓige san Oireachtas í gCorcaigh go luath.
Also the Sancta Maria school website has been chosen as a 'Star Site' on Scoilnet's Schools Online.  The Star Site accolade is given to school websites that are examples of best practise.

Woodford boys drive to Irish Schools title

Congratulations to Students at Mercy College, Woodford who were successful recently in the Irish Schools Matchplay Championships which were held at Galway Golf Club.

The five man team from Mercy College comprised of Shane McHugo, Cathal O'Byrne, Seán O'Byrne, Eoin Dervan and Kevin Cunningham. Mercy College claimed the top two individual prizes on the day with Seán O'Byrne (1st) and Kevin Cunningham (2nd).

In the team category, the Woodford boys again showed their dominance, winning the best nett team overall.

Irish Bishops' New Website

The Irish Bishops' Conference has launched a new website which will allow people to find out more about the activities of the Catholic Church in Ireland and abroad.

Free Files Hosting!

A very useful place for storing large files and making them available for download is a site called RapidShare.

It allows you to upload 10 files at a time up to maxixmum of 200mb and you can add number of recipients to receive email with links to download your files.
