Update From CEIST CEO

A sincere thank you to the members of the new Boards of Management, 33 new Boards in total.

It was heartening to meet with each of the new Boards on our recent nationwide CEIST Welcome Fora for new Boards of Management.

CEIST has an on-going commitment to support the Boards of Management in their school governance.

Welcome fora for new staff continued to be well received.  A total of 14 fora are taking place throughout the country on a regional basis, with joint presentations on the Trust from two members of the CEIST office, representing Faith Development and School Support Services.

As a new trust it is important that we take every opportunity to inform and appraise our new CEIST colleagues of the work of the Trust

Anne Kelleher,
Chief Executive Officer,
CEIST.

Health & Safety for Students

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has produced an extremely useful guide and checklist to assist schools who send students on work experience. You can access a copy of the guide by clicking here. The guide has just been published in September 2008 and provides a comprehensive overview of what a school needs to do when sending students on work experience. Well worth a read!

New Guide to Insurance, Safety & Security in the School

Allianz will shortly be launching the new Guide to insurance, safety and security in schools. The Guide was first introduced in 1991 to provide assistance to Trustees, Boards of Management and School Principals in the daily school operations. An updated version was issued in 2001. Since then there have been changes in legislation that impact the operations of schools and the new Guide will incorporate these changes. A copy of the new guide will be sent to all our schools.
