Nurturing Teacher Spirituality: The Froth or Foundation of Teacher Education?
CEIST Faith Development Co-ordinator Dr. Amalee Meehan and Dr. Daniel O'Connell of Mary Immaculate College LImerick presented a paper entitled 'Nurturing Teacher Spirituality: The Froth or Foundation of Teacher Education?' at a conference on Spirituality and Education recently in Dublin City University.
This conference brings together academics and practitioners to consider how the boundaries between spirituality and religion have changed and the implications of this change for educational goals.

Board of Management Minutes: To be submitted as soon as practical after each meeting. Please ensure that the original signed copy is kept in your office.
School policies: "Admissions", "Code of Behaviour and Discipline".
Finance
Annual Accounts - 1st November. Licence Fee Payment - 31st October.
Insurance Payment to Allianz - First Moiety by 1st April, 2nd Moiety by 1st October.
Annual Budget - 31st March.

St, Mary's Secondary Nenagh Project
A very attractive wall of Teddy Bears in St. Mary’s Secondary School, Nenagh, was testament to the hard work of teachers, students and even some of their grannies, in knitting beautiful teddy bears in response to an appeal from Mercy Sisters working in Kenya for teddy bears for the sick children in their hospital.
Their appeal was based on the premise that sick children get better more quickly if they have something to cuddle.

Presentation College Carlow Zambia Week!
Presentation College, Askea, Carlow recently hosted two teachers and four students from Kaoma, Zambia, as part of their ongoing involvement on the Global Education Experience Project.
CEIST Faith Development Co-ordinator Margaret Farrell was invited to attend the launch of Zambia Week and we have included a link to an article published in the Presentation Sisters' website on the return visit of the School's Zambian friends.

Scoil Mhuire Strokestown Commence New School Building
Scoil Mhuire Strokestown had their official turning of the sod for the new School Building on Wednesday June 8th, 2010.
The school extension has commenced and it is costing 3.7 million euro to complete.

Meán Scoil an Chlochair Kilbeggan Open New Autism Unit
The Tánaiste and Minister for Education and Skills, Mary Coughlan TD, has officially opened a new state of the art Autism Unit in Meán Scoil an Chlochair, Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath.
The new unit , which was built at a cost of €100,000 and funded by the Department of Education and Skills, is expected to make a significant difference to the lives of the pupils who attend.
The unit currently caters for two children and has a staffing allocation of 1.5 teaching posts and one SNA post.
Meán Scoil an Chlochair school has an enrolment of almost 400 students.

Presentation College Tuam raise money for the Galway Parkinsons Association
A fundraising day was held recently in Presentation College, Currylea, Tuam, Co. Galway to raise money for the Galway Parkinsons Association.
It was a great day and over 1,200 euro was raised for the chosen charity.

Presentation de la Salle College Bagenalstown Student Awards
Students at Presentation de la Salle College in Bagenalstown recently got all their hard work in both the classroom and on the playing field rewarded when the school hosted an end of year awards night.
The guest speaker for the awards night was CEIST Director of Faith Development, Mr. Ned Prendergast.

School Monthly Profile - Presentation Secondary School Listowel
Presentation Secondary School, Listowel were our profiled school for June, 2010. Presentation Secondary School is a Catholic School for girls situated in Listowel, Co. Kerry, Ireland.
It was founded in 1930 by the Presentation order of sisters. From an original enrolment of 60 girls, it has grown to become one of the largest all-girls secondary schools in County Kerry.
