Latest News from the Trust

The Month of May is normally quite a busy month for the Trust with attendance at school award ceremonies, end of term Mass, senior management appointments and so forth and this year is no exception as in addition to our normal Trustee duties we held two in-service days. CEIST held our Annual Trustee Support Day for Chairpersons of School Boards of Management on May 18th in the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone and it proved to be a great success. We had our biggest attendance to date and were greatly encouraged by the interaction and engagement shown by all attendees. The 2 hour presentation by Millet and Matthews solicitors titled "Survial guide for Boards of Management of CEIST Schools" proved invaluable to all who attended and they received great praise in our post seminar evaluations received from the Chairpersons.

Our Joining the Dots Facilitators' Day was held on the 8th May, which was directed at prospective facilitators of Joining the Dots and similiar to our Chairpersons' day it was attended to capacity and received excellent reviews. Joining the Dots is a school based programme in spiritual reflection and renewal for staff in faith based schools. Due to the demand for a re-run of the day from those who couldn't make it and for a follow up from those who did, CEIST is offering the following dates to the held in Mount St Anne's Retreat and Conference Centre, Killenard, Portarlington, Co. Laois on September 10th: Joining the Dots: Day for Facilitators (re-run), October 15th: Facilitating Joining the Dots: A Follow Up.

Finally, CEIST offers best wishes to all students in our schools undertaking their exams this year and to school staff who are reitiring at the end of this school term.
