Appointment of New Chief Executive Officer for CEIST

CEIST has announced the appointment of new CEO, Dr. Marie Griffin. Dr. Marie Griffin is a native of Kerry and past pupil of Presentation Secondary School, Tralee. A former teacher and Guidance Counsellor, Dr. Griffin has been involved in education management for the past fifteen years. She was Principal in Scoil Mhuire, Athy, Co. Kildare and Deansrath Community College, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 before becoming Education Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer of County Dublin Vocational Education Committee.

Dr. Griffin has been a member of the National Executive of the National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals, the Advisory Committee of the National Educational Psychological Service, and Vice-President of the Chief Executives and Education Officers’ Association. She is currently a member of the Standing Council of Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI) and the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment.


Master of Arts in Christian Leadership in Education (MACLE)

The MACLE is an innovative postgraduate programme, leading to a professional qualification for school leaders.

It explores key concepts in theology and spirituality as they relate to educational leadership, along with issues of educational policy and management within the context of faith based schools.

The MACLE is a part-time programme over two academic years offered both by Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick and Marino Institute of Education, Dublin.

Diploma in Catholic Education and Leadership

The Diploma in Catholic Education offered by St Patrick's College, Maynooth is an initiative undertaken in partnership with the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE). 

This programme is dedicated to training post-primary teachers to work in Catholic schools.

World Wise Global Schools Funding

WorldWise Global Schools is an Irish Aid programme for development education in post primary schools, which aims to contribute to increased knowledge and understanding of global justice issues and increased engagement and action by students as active global citizens.

The next round of funding for post-primary Development Education is now open for applications with a deadline of April 16th, 2014.
