Latest News from CEIST

It has been a very busy time for the Trust since our last e-news at the end of August. We held our annual education conference in the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone on the 25 & 26th September and are delighted to announce it was the best attended to date with ninety eight of our schools represented. It was a very successful conference and delegates found it a very useful exercise in meeting with their colleagues and having the opportunity to share ideas and best practice. The joy of the conference was somewhat over shadowed this week with the sad news that two Mercy Sisters had died tragically following a car accident on Tuesday. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Congregation and the families of Sr. Frances Forde and Sr. Marie Duddy.

At this time we are busy preparing at present for an additional induction day for new Principals and Deputy Principals in CEIST Schools to accomodate people who could not attend our last induction day in August. CEIST are also holding a Trustee Support Day for Chairpersons of CEIST School Boards of Management. It will be held in the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone on the 18th October.
