Official Launch of Galway’s Newest School

Galway’s newest secondary school was officially celebrated at a launch in the Radisson on Monday. Our Lady’s College will officially open its doors in September 2016.

The school’s motto ‘Excellence Together’ sums up the intention of the new institution, which promises a new and strong future for girls’ post primary education in Galway City centre. It represents the union of two great Galway schools; Presentation Secondary School and Mercy Newtownsmith.

In attendance to celebrate the union were the new school’s patron, CEIST (Catholic Education an Irish Schools Trust), the Boards of Management of Presentation Secondary School and Mercy Newtownsmith, Mayor of Galway Frank Fahy, TDs, members of Galway City Council and members of the school community.
