A Student from Mercy Secondary School, Mounthawk, Tralee, Co. Kerry, who got almost 100% in his Leaving Cert Spanish exam, met with the Spanish Ambassador recently, to celebrate his achievement.

Sean O'Mahony received one of the highest possible grades in his Leaving Cert Spanish exam last year, one of only two students across the country to reach such a high standard.

To mark this major achievement, Sean met with the Spanish Ambassador to Ireland, Jose Maria Rodriguez-Coso recently and received a paid trip to Madrid to further enhance his knowledge of the language.

Sean visited the Spanish Embassy in Dublin to receive a special award to acknowledge his top results.

Sean is a multi-linguist and is now studying Spanish and French at DCU in Dublin. He also speaks Italian, Portuguese and Polish as well as Irish.

He also received top grades in French and Italian in his Leaving Cert.
