Cycle Against Suicide

CEIST schools were involved in all elements of the Cycle Against Suicide Programme in 2014/2015 and their "commitment was exceptional" commented Paul McBride, CEO of the programme. 

The Cycle Against Suicide Programme held their Student Leaders' Congress in January 2015 and the following CEIST schools showcased their mental health projects on the day:

  • Ardscoil na Tríonóide, Athy
  • Coláiste Bríde, Clondalkin
  • Mercy Secondary School, Mounthawk, Tralee
  • Presentation Secondary School, Wexford
  • Presentation Secondary School, Thurles
  • Sacred Heart Secondary School, Drogheda
  • St. Joseph's Secondary School, Rush
  • St. Leo's College, Carlow

Anchor Schools

Cycle Against Suicide visited 21 Anchor Schools on the cycle route and co-hosted mental health events at the following CEIST Schools:

  • Christ King Girls' Secondary School, Cork
  • Scoil Mhuire, Longford
  • Mercy Secondary School, Mounthawk
  • Mercy Heights Secondary School, Skibbereen
  • Presentation Secondary School, Thurles
  • Scoil Chriost Rí, Portlaoise

Ambassador Schools

45 schools received Ambassador School status for the programme this year including the following CEIST schools:
