Mercy College Sligo Student Wins Youth Leadership Competition!

The Sligo Rotary Club interviewed 17 students from Sligo schools in the Sligo Park Hotel in early November.

Ciara Schmidt, student in Mercy College Sligo, emerged as the winner with Caoimhe Hough as runner up.

The panel of Rotarians were very impressed by the high standard of all the students as they discussed their personal achievements, their leadership skills, work experience, planning and organisation skills.

Ciara then went on to represent Mercy College and Sligo Rotary Club at the regional final of the competition in Cookstown, County Tyrone last week. Schools from Cookstown, Dungannon, Letterkenny, Derry, Omagh, Strabane/Lifford and Ballina also took part in the competition on the day.
