Presentation de la Salle College Bagenalstown Student Awards

Students at Presentation de la Salle College in Bagenalstown recently got all their hard work in both the classroom and on the playing field rewarded when the school hosted an end of year awards night.

Overall, almost fifty awards were handed out to students from all years, with the exception of Transition Year which had their own separate celebration last week.

At the main awards night, accolades were given in recognition of academic achievements, sporting feats and general contribution to school life.  Students who won the awards were invited to the ceremony not knowing in which area they were to be recognised so the excitment in the hall was great.

The main awards were the Student of the Year with Shane Brooks from Fenagh being awarded in First Year, Second Year's winner was Dearbhla Reid from Bagenalstown, while Third Year student, Michelle Bridgett from Bagenalstown was deemed the best.

Fifth Year Agnes Kavanagh from Bawnree won the top prize with Sixth Year's Joanne Dowling from Seskinryan being named the best overall in her year.

The guest speaker at the awards night was Mr. Ned Prendergast, Director of Faith Development, CEIST.
