Presentation Secondary School Galway Open Year Mass

Presentation Secondary School Galway held its Open Year Mass in St. Joseph's Church on October 8th, 2010 with Sr. Helen Hyland giving both the sermon and a gift of a mustard seed to each student.

The theme of the Mass was Together in Faith and the mustard seed represented the growth of faith in each person.

Also as part of the Mass a Children’s Window was blessed by Fr Martin Downey. The window is dedicated to the memory of Jamie Stone who died 4 years ago and whose mother works in the school and to all deceased children of the parish.

Both the Presentation School and St. Patricks National School, Galway raised the money for the window through different types of fundraising. The window will stand as a lasting memory to all children.

It was also great to have Jamie’s teachers and class mates who are now in secondary school present.
