Presentation Sisters Bicentenary Celebration

The Presentation Sisters first came to Carlow 200 years ago on 29th January 1811. To honour the bicentenary, a special mass will be celebrated in Carlow Cathedral on Saturday, 29th January at 12 noon.

Sr. Cecelia Molloy has written music for the Mass, which will be sung by a choir of past-pupils of Scoil Mhuire gan Smál and Presentation Secondary School, Askea, Carlow and friends of the Sisters. All are welcome.

There will be a special photographic display in Carlow County Library, formerly the Presentation Convent, for the week before and the week after the bicentenary celebration.

A DVD has been made in honour of the occasion - containing all the photos from the display and more - and it can be yours for a minimum donation of €5.

As all proceeds will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul in Carlow, it is hoped people will avail of this unique opportunity and give generously.

The DVD will be available for purchase at the photographic display and on the day of the bicentenary.
