Mercy Secondary School Kilbeggan Win Leinster Gaelic Football Title!

Mercy Secondary School Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath, enjoyed a great win recently in the North Leinster Colleges Senior Football "C" final.

The final was played at Meath Centre of Excellence Dunganny on the 21st January 2011. Mercy Secondary School Kilbeggan beat Ardee Community School on a final scoreline of 4 - 10 to 3 - 6.

The team trailed at half-time by a single point 2 - 5 to 2 - 4 and were really up against it but they came good in the second half when it really mattered to register a great win.

The Ógspórt Lú website for their match report mentioned that David Fennel was man of the match and the key player for Kilbeggan, Kieran Glennon on the forty was superb and it was he who kept them in the game in the first half by sweeping up behind the Louth midfield, Shane Clavin, Niall Kelly, Liam Varley, Aaron O’Brien and Paul Fennell were key players for Kilbeggan.
