Tuam School Musical - ANNIE GET YOUR GUN

Presentation College, Currylea, Tuam, Co. Galway is proud to announce the staging of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 16th, 17th and 18th November at 8.30 p.m. in the school Gym.

ANNIE GET YOUR GUN is a wonderful musical, a story that blends romance, show business, the old American Wild West and the unforgettable music of Irving Berlin.

This story of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN is a fictionalised version of famous American sharpshooter Annie Oakley and her exploits with the celebrated Buffalo Bill and his Wild West show.

Set to the music of Irving Berlin, the show contains musical theatre classics like “There’s No Business like Show Business”, “Doin’ What Comes Naturally” and “Anything You Can Do”.

The production team of Ronan Lardner and Una McGinty are delighted to welcome Clodagh Brennan on board this year.

As mentioned, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN takes place in the school gym for three nights, Wednesday 16th, Thursday 17th and Friday 18th November at 8.30.

'What Makes Me Happy' Competition


For the past month Presentation College, Currylea have been running a 'What Makes Me Happy' competition.

The aim of the competition was to promote positive mental health and it ran in conjunction with World Mental Health Week. The competition was a great success and we received a huge number of entries showcasing the wonderful artistic and literary talents of our students. Well done to all involved and a big congratulations to the winners in each category. Students were invited to enter under following categories: Art / Photography, Poetry or an Essay. A prize giving ceremony took place on Friday 28th October with the following students proving successful:

Presentation College, Tuam Daffodil Plant in Aid of Tuam Cancer Care Centre

Presentation College, Currylea, students planted thousands of daffodils in the school grounds recently in support of Tuam Cancer Care Centre.

Bulbs were generously donated by various local garden centres. Money was raised through generous contributions from students as well as money from the sales of bulbs in the school.
