Sacred Heart Secondary School Tullamore Cookbook

The Transition Year group in the Sacred Heart School, Tullamore continue to be an innovative as ever.

Councillor Sinead Dooley launched the TY Cookbook on Dec 1st in the Tullamore Court Hotel.

The cookbook project was a collaborative project between TY1 and the students of Seaton High School in Arizona.

The book features a collection of traditional Irish dishes and recipes from Chandler in the hot state of Arizona.

Congratulations to Ms Lee and her Transition Year group and bon apetit!!

Meanwhile Transition Year 2 is working very hard with Mr McFadden in relation to their YSI module.

They spent the week to December 5th promoting BOB week (Block Out Bullying).

The class set about implementing ideas that they hope would make students aware of the topic of bullying.

During the BOB week a special mentor system was set up and Garda Graham Kavanagh gave a very enlightening presentation in relation to the use of Facebook.

Probably the most effective part of the week was the use of assembly to read out a “bullying fact” each morning.

We look forward to their next initiative.
