Presentation Secondary School, Waterford Awards Night

Awards Night at Presentation Secondary School, Waterford took place on Tuesday 23rd October 2012. Awards were presented by Mayor of Waterford, Councillor Jim D’Arcy.

Head Girl, Claire Crowley, extended a warm welcome to the Mayor and thanked him for his visit. The Mayor addressed the student body and urged them to show pride in their school and in their city.

He congratulated the school community on the new school building and commented on the wonderful facilities that we now enjoy.

Councillor D’Arcy was impressed with the level of participation and performance in the school at academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

All award recipients, along with their families and teachers, were congratulated by the Mayor and by the School Principal. Members of the Board of Management and many school staff also attended on the night.

Following the presentation of awards, the School Principal, Mary Ryan, thanked students, parents and staff for their support of student participation in all activities.

She expressed gratitude for the assistance and co-operation of all who helped with the transfer to the new school last year.

The spirit that has characterised presentation education in Waterford since 1798 is very evident as we move forward to a very exciting phase of Presentation education in Waterford.
