Christ King Girls Secondary School, Cork have kindly shared with CEIST the following news.

Post Primary Junior Cert Music Award

Gráinne Ní Luasa received the "Louise O'Connell" Memorial Cup and Medal from the PPMTA (Post Primary Music Teacher Association) for achieving the highest mark awarded in Ireland for Junior Cert Music 2012.

The ceremony took place in Dublin last Saturday and was attended by Gráinne's proud parents, Carmel and Niall and grandparents.

Gráinne plays Cello, Piano and Tin Whistle and played with the orchestra in the school show this year. Gráinne is a transition year student.

BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition

Ellen Atkinson and Lia Coffey participated at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition last week.

Their project was titled "Using natural preservatives to prolong the life of fruit juices once opened". This happens to be very topical now with regards to the current food controversy!
