Killina Presentation Secondary School Awards Night

Killina Presentation Secondary School, Rahan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly recently had their Academic Awards night.

This is an annual event which recognises students for their performance in the 2013 State Examinations.

There was a large turnout on the night and as well as the awards, entertainment was also provided by the school's traditional music group.

Michael Nolan the recently retired principal was present on the night and reflected on his time in the school.

CEIST were represented on the night by the school's co-ordinator Justin Brown who was also the guest speaker.

In his speech he paid tribute to the students and their parents.

He also spoke about the nature of the Catholic school and the centrality of the student in it.

Justin also praised the great work and energy of the newly appointed management team of John Cotter and Hazel Hannon as well as Sr. Mary McDermott who is chairperson of the Board of Management.

It was great to see some other Presentation Sisters present on the night and all the guests adjourned afterwards for refreshments which were ably served by some of the students.
