PDST Technology in Education ‘ICT Conference for School Leaders’

PDST Technology in Education, in conjunction with the ICT committee of NAPD, hosted a conference for school leaders in the Convention Centre in Dublin on 23 November.

Ms.E. Jones & Ms. N. O’Regan together with two of last year’s TY students Éanna O’Loughlin and Caoimhe Roughan were invited to contribute at a Work Shop: entitled “Ongoing assessment using eportfolios” .

We are one of 24 schools participating in an ePortfolio pilot project with PDST Technology in Education. Our 120 Transition Year students are engaging in the project for 2016/17.

Both students spoke and shared examples of ePortfolios in the context of TY and explained about the three essential components of an ePortfolio - storage; workspace and showcase.

By emphasising teacher/student feedback and the opportunity for students to reflect on their learning, Coláiste Muire discussed how ongoing assessment can be enhanced through use of ePortfolios.
