Irish Heart and Lung Transplant Association Charity Christmas Cards

Eureka Secondary School, Kells, Co. Meath students won the Young Social Innovator competition 2013 with a project entitled “Bring Organ Donation into Education”.

As a consequence The Irish Heart and Lung Transplant Association invited the school to hold a competition to design Christmas cards which they would sell to raise funds for this very worthy charity.

The winning designs were from Students Siobhan Byrne, Elizabeth Corbally, Eimear Corcoran, Sophie Fagan, Caoimhe Fox and Clodagh Manning who are pictured above with representativies from the Irish Heart and Lung Transplant Association.

Eureka students participate in the Empire Mock Trials World

Championships in New York

Congratulations to the Transition Years from Eureka Secondary School in Kells Co. Meath who participated in the Empire Mock Trials World Championships in New York in October 2013, where they were competing against teams from all over the world as well as the American State champions.

This is the third year in a row that Eureka qualified for this competition through Public Access to Law (PAL), which takes place annually in the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin.

The students who participated this year were Lydia McCabe, Claire Brady, Siobhan Hegarty, Ailbhe Hanly, Eimear McKenna, Sloane Reeves, Elizabeth Sheridan.

The coaches were Elaine and Edel Traynor and their teacher was Ronan Fahy.

One of the highlights of the competition was Elizabeth Sheridan achieving 2nd place overall in the competition for Best Witness of the Championship.
