Seminar for and by Cooperating Teachers and School Leaders

Seminar for and by Cooperating Teachers and School Leaders: Building Greater Reciprocal Relationships between Schools and Teacher Education Providers

Where? MIC St Patrick’s Campus Thurles
When? Saturday November 11th, 2017
What time? 10.00am-13.00pm (light lunch included)

This one-day event is free and open to all. It follows on from a successful event last March and continues the pursuit of stronger links between schools and MIC Thurles. It will be of particular interest to school personnel such as principals, deputy principals, cooperating teachers, mentors and all who support initial teacher education in both our schools and higher education institutions. It will be a discursive day and one where teachers, placement tutors and lecturers get to hear about each other’s experiences, think about their own practice and consider future actions.

We are also inviting our MIC Thurles undergraduate students to attend and learn from the experience. More than ever we believe in initiating and strengthening reciprocal links between teacher learning/school improvement and supporting initial teacher education. We also believe greater and deeper partnerships and collaboration between colleges of education and schools is essential if we hope to create a quality learning environment that supports the learning of all pupils in all classrooms.
