SUMMARY:European Youth Parliament Ireland
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Dublin Regional Session of the EYP Ireland will take place from the 18th-20th of October 2019.  Delegations of up to eight TY\, 5th and 6th year students can attend this weekend long conference in Holy Child School Killiney. Over the course of the weekend your students will have the opportunity to improve their communication and public speaking skills\, engage with pressing issues facing Europe and make new friends. The fee for this event is €60 per delegate\, however in the case of DEIS schools the fee may be reduced or waived entirely. \nPlease see the information booklet for full details. \nEYP Information booklet

DESCRIPTION:The Irish Catholic is hosting a special national conference on the future of denominational education on Thursday\, October 24th. \nFaith-based education has been in the spotlight for some time and some people are even questioning whether or not the State should continue to fund schools that are under a faith-based patronage. \nOur conference – hosted in the Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge in Dublin 4 – will focus on the place of faith-based education in our increasingly secular society and Catholic schools in particular. The conference will be addressed by: \n\nMr Francis Campbell\, Vice-Chancellor of St Mary’s University\, Twickenham and a former UK Ambassador to the Holy See\nBishop Tom Deenihan\, Bishop of Meath\nPaul Barber\, Director of Catholic Education Service of England and Wales\nNatalie Finnigan\, Secondary Education Advisor for Archdiocese of Glasgow\nBairbre Cahill\, Columnist with The Irish Catholic\n\nWe hope that the invited speakers – drawing on the experience of faith-based education in other jurisdictions – will help stimulate a lively conversation that will make a contribution to the debate in Ireland. \nPlease click below for more information. \nEducation Conference October 24 2019 \n
