Our Lady’s Birthday
This feast is one of the oldest to be celebrated by the Church, and it is one which celebrates Light and Joy. Mary’s birth was an extraordinary occasion, as it was this little child, who was to become, as a young woman, the mother of Jesus.
Her life was to be one filled with joys and sorrows. Her acceptance of God’s invitation to become mother of His Son is an example to all of us when we are faced with difficult choices in our lives. Let us pray that we, like Mary, will be given the strength and courage to always follow the right path in our lives. And let us ask her to pray for us:
