
On Monday the 25th of May Coláiste Iosagáin entire school community gathered together to celebrate with the three retiring staff members. A guard of honour was formed to welcome them into the PE Hall to the sound of student Matthew Ryan singing ‘My Way’
MC for the afternoon Ms. Margaret Nolan welcomed everyone as they gathered to celebrate the retirement of three wonderful staff members, Mr John Heraty, Mr Paul Daly and Ms Joan O’ Sullivan.
On behalf of everyone there Ms. Nolan warmly congratulated the retirees and thanked them for their loyal and committed service. She spoke about their significant contribution at the heart of Coláiste Íosagáin for so long.
The retirees have collectively completed 104 years of service. 17,160 days where they showed up and consistently gave it their all. Their powerful and enduring legacy will live on in the heart, minds and memories of all their students and colleagues.
Everyone will miss each of them, while wishing them the very best in their retirement. The school hopes that they will get to do all the things that they enjoyed now that they have packed their school bag for the last time. Gur fada buan sibh.

On behalf of the student body, Josh Dunne and Holly Kerrigan shared a tribute to Mr Heraty, Ruby Mears and Ben McCann shared a tribute to Mr Paul Daly & Sadhbh Maher and Emma Rotaru shared a tribute to Ms. Joan O Sullivan This was followed by Mr. David O Reilly who read his tribute poem, ‘A note for Joan’.
Mr Brown congratulated & wished the retirees well. He then presented a gift of appreciation to Mr Paul Daly, Ms Walsh to Mr John Heraty. Mr McGlynn made a presentation to Ms O’Sullivan.
Aoibhe Hennessy, accompanied by Mr David O’Reilly gave us a rendition of our traditional retirement song The Parting Glass.
