St Mary’s  Secondary School Newport enjoyed a highly successful outing at the recent County Athletics competition held in Templemore, with several students delivering standout performances across a range of events. Darragh McNamara secured an impressive third-place finish in the senior long jump, while Eoin Kiely also claimed third in the race walk. Isabel Hayde led the field in the high jump with a first-place finish, matched by Sammy Whelan, who took top honours in the shot put. Tadhg Malone added to the school’s achievements with a victory in the javelin competition, rounding off an excellent day for St Mary’s on the track and field.
