Christina Noble visits CSPE students in Presentation Athenry

Having learnt about the great work that Christina Nobel has done for the less fortunate people of Vietnam and Mongolia we as a class decided to invite Christina to speak to us for our CSPE Action Project.

We were delighted when our teacher, Mr. Cotter told us that Christina had been in touch to confirm her acceptance of our invitation to speak to us.

In advance of Christina’s visit we worked hard with in our committee groups to ensure the day would be well organised. We fund raised to help support Christina’s charity and raised over €250.

On Wednesday, the 17th of October, Christina and her assistant Jean arrived at the school and we gladly welcomed them to Athenry. Despite having such a connection with the song, the fields of Athenry, this was Christina’s first trip to Athenry and she was thrilled to be with us.

Following, a lunch time reception Christina spoke to us as a class group for over an hour, sharing with us her life story and how she has helped so many vulnerable children in Vietnam and Mongolia.  Throughout her heart warming and honest presentation, Christina shared with us the many great success stories of the young people she and her team of expert care staff have worked with.

A very high profile and busy lady, we are hononured to have met with and listened to the wonderful Christina who really does have a heart of gold.

Her caring nature and stories have inspired many of us to seriously consider visiting and helping with her projects in Vietnam and Mongolia when we are finished school.
