Meán Scoil Mhuire Longford News – December 2019

Meán Scoil Mhuire Longford Christmas Fundraiser for Saint Vincent de Paul!

Christmas is a time for reflection – reflecting on what we have done, what we have achieved and also and more importantly reflecting on how we can help others. This year the Meán Scoil Mhuire student council directed their attention towards raising funds for our local branch of Saint Vincent de Paul. The student council organised a Christmas Jumper Day on December 6th and each student was asked to make a contribution of one euro.

December 6th saw the halls of Meán Scoil Mhuire filled with elves, reindeer and snow men that added a wonderful festive cheer to the school.  Overall, a total of six hundred euro was raised for our local branch- much needed funds at this time of the year. A cheque was presented to Joe Finnegan of the Longford branch at our annual carol service in Saint Mel’s Cathedral, Longford on December 13th.
