€1,200 Raised for Pieta House

Our 5th Year LCVP students organised an Orange Uniform Free day last week in aid of Pieta House raising €1,200! Brian from Pieta House visited the school recently to thank our school community for their fundraising efforts. Well done to all who took part and donated on the day!

Second Amber Flag for Mercy

Many thanks to Brian McEvoy from Pieta House, Preventing Suicide and Self Harm who visited the school recently to thank our Amber Flag Committee and raise our Amber Flag!

The Pieta Amber Flag initiative recognises the individual efforts of schools to create healthy, inclusive environments that support mental wellbeing.

 

Christmas Cheer on our Corridors!

Our Christmas tree is up and decorated in the Front Hall! Many thanks to Ms Porter’s class for their decorating skills and our caretaker Dermot for sourcing a wonderful tree

 

Junk Kouture Finalists to Appear on RTE

Our Junk Kouture Finalists, 5th Year students Abby, Claudia & Kaia have been filming for the Grand Final! It will be shown on the RTE Player this month with guest judges Michelle Visage and Louis Walsh. Well done to the girls and Art teacher Ms Connolly on their creation, ‘Wired Up’!

 

Donations in aid of Meath Food Bank

Thank you to staff, students, families and friends of Mercy Secondary School for all your kind donations. Meath Food Bank collected these donations Tuesday and greatly appreciate your help and support.

 

November Remembrance

Many thanks to our Schola and our Music and Religion departments who helped the school community to remember those close to us who have passed away with a prayers and hymns from the oratory recently. Normally we would do this in person, but this year we did so virtually in each classroom.

 

Senior Ladies Presentation

Presentation to the victorious Senior Ladies Football Leinster C Schools winners from 2019.

Well done to all the players and teachers on a very successful year where the team reached the All-Ireland Final which was cancelled due to Covid. Thanks to the past students for coming back in to receive their Leinster medal and jersey. Christmas Jumper Day 2020

Many thanks to our Student Council for organising our Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 11th December. All funds raised were in aid of Meath Women’s Refuge.

 

Virtual Carol Service 2020

Our Virtual Carol Service took place on Friday 11th December in all of our classes! Many thanks to our carol singers in each of the year groups who participated. Many thanks also to our TY Coordinator Ms O’Sullivan, Ms Hickey & our TY students who planned and produced.

€1,500 Raised for Meath Women’s Refuge

On Friday, our Student Council held a Christmas Jumper Day in the school in aid of Meath Women’s Refuge raising a phenomenal €1,500! Many thanks to our Student Council and to all who donated on the day.

 

Christmas Window Competition

Our Christmas Window Competition ended today with 6C picked as winners by our TY judges.

It has been fantastic to see the creativity and teamwork around this project over the past week. Well done to all involved! Pictured is our winning Grinch window and lead artists Darja, Anna and Patrycja.
