Coláiste Bríde Clondalkin News – May 2019

Gaisce Bronze Adventure

On the sunny morning of 3rd May 2019 27 Coláiste Bríde students along with Miss Gontyte and Miss Kelly went on Gaisce Bronze Adventure Journey to Knockree in Co. Wicklow. The students hiked 25 km over the 2 days. One great achievement was the girls climbing Maulin Mountain (highest point of 530m). This was a huge achievement as it was a moderate climb.

Lourdes

During 12th to 17th May two TY students along with teacher Ms Kelly got the opportunity to go as helpers on the annual Clondalkin Parish trip to Lourdes. This was a very enjoyable and spiritual experience and the pilgrims were blessed with glorious sunshine while there. The group took part in various ceremonies, processions, Stations of the Cross, holy hour etc. While there, the students and teacher donated blankets knitted by staff and students of Coláiste Bríde and members of the Parish, to two hospitals, l’Accueil Notre Dame and the Seven Dolours. Mass was celebrated each day by Fr. Shan Ó Cuiv, who was an inspiration with his words of wisdom, inspired homilies and good humour! On their final evening, the teacher and students were presented with a lovely gift on behalf of the parish. This was followed by Procession to the Grotto, carrying a large candle representing Clondalkin Parish.
