Fundraising for Volunteering Trip to Lourdes

Ten girls from Mt St Michael were chosen to go to Lourdes for Easter week as volunteers these 10 girls have to raise €140000 to go. This money will go straight to “The Irish Pilgrimage Trust” fund, the girls must pay their own way to Lourdes. They have put countless hours into raising these funds through such events as a bake sale, various collections, a very successful quiz night, a jersey day and they are still not finished! Their lasted venture may be their most time-consuming events yet, making St. Brigid’s crosses by hand which they will look for donations on completion at many church gates. Each girl must source their own rushes and make 200 crosses each. On average a cross takes 3 minutes to make and a further 2 minutes to cut and tie off,so you can imagine the amount of time and dedication it would take to make 200!That is if they were attempting to make them single-handedly, the girls have an amazing group of supporters behind with parents, siblings, grandparents, teachers and fellow students taking time to help them in their task.
