Mount St. Michael Claremorris News – October 2019

As another school year begins all the staff and students have been welcomed back to the school community. September is a month where we have been working on strengthening that community.

School Opening Mass

TY’s began their journey with a trip to Killary adventure centre making memories and bonds, they pushed themselves to the limits but with so many laughs along the way.

The school sports day took place on Friday 19th September and we all basked in the glorious weather working to complete the various sporting challenges.

Our Big Sister Little Sister programme that matches a 5th year Mentor with a 1st year student started again with a getting to know you morning in the canteen.

All the staff and students have been fundraising for a very worthy cause Mayo Roscommon Hospice by hosting Tea & Coffee events with their class tutors.

We had a beautiful opening mass on Wednesday the 25th celebrated by Fr. Mike, who as always gave a very relevant and meaningful sermon. The students all participated very respectfully and the prayers and songs chosen stuck a chord wit many. Our senior students did a very vibrant rainbow reflection which was truly inspirational.

Our senior prefects and student council members were announced and we know they will have such a positive role doing extraordinary work this coming school year.

We wish all our staff and students a very successful and happy school year.
