Our Lady’s Secondary School, Templemore Newsletter – Summer 2018

I am delighted to introduce the summer edition of Cumarsáid. Following a very busy term students in first, second, Transition Year and Fifth year have commenced the end of year examinations. This week our third and sixth year students will attend tuition blocks where final preparations will be made for the State Examinations.

The school year 2017/2018 brought some exciting developments at Our Lady’s including the establish-ment of the Learning to Learn programme and the introduction of a Chinese module in Transition Year. We were delighted to receive the PDST Wellread National Award in November. Other highlights from the school year include student participation in Junk Kouture, Siansa Gael Linn, BT Young Scientist and a number of weeklong awareness events. A busy sporting calendar facilitated student participation in hurling, camogie, badminton, basketball, ladies football and athletic competitions.

As another school year draws to an end, I take this opportunity to wish third year and sixth year stu-dents the very best of luck in the State Examinations. I extend my good wishes for a lovely summer holiday to students, staff, parents/guardians and members of the local community.
Beannacht Dé oraibh.
