PCH School raise €2570 for Motor Neurone’s Disease

During April the students and teachers of Presentation College, Headford held a very successful Motor Neurone’s awareness week.  In addition to creating an awareness the student council under the guidance of Ms Dufficy and Mr Ryder organised a sponsored silence and “guess how many sweets” competition to raise funds.  The week finished with a coffee morning and a colour run.  A total of €2570 was raised.

Ms McCallion and Mr Ryder would like to thank all students, teachers and staff members for their support, encouragement and generosity.

In Particular, we would like to extend a huge gratitude to Mrs Mairead Coleman, the ambassador for the Motor Neurone’s Disease Association, for coming in and sharing with us her experience of Motor Neurone’s Disease.  The sponsored silence involved staying silent for 30 minutes to experience what it would be like to be unable to speak.  To date Mairead, through various events like this has raised over €40,000 for the association.

The colour run was organised by the TY Enterprise class under the direction of Ms McCallion.  The event encapsulated the spirit of our students and staff at PCH.  This fun, colourful and vibrant event showcased everything that is positive about our students.

Below are some more photos taken on the day. Well done to all!
