Agricultural Science Trip

Fifth and Sixth Year Agricultural Science students, along with teachers Ms Bradley and Ms Coburn, attended the annual Agri Aware Farm Walk and Talk in Kildalton Agricultural College on Thursday, 8th March.
The students went from stand to stand and learned about grassland, genetics, dairy, beef and suckler cows, fertilizers and machinery with which to apply them, different crops grown on farms and, most importantly, safety on the farm. They got to see and hold newborn lambs and had interesting talks from personnel from Dawn Meats and Glanbia.
The students find this Farm Walk and Talk very beneficial for their studies of Agricultural Science and it helps with their projects for the Leaving Certificate.
