Ardscoil na Tríonóide – Mercy Day Celebration & Opening Mass

Last Friday the entire school community gathered in St Michael’s Parish Church, Athy to celebrate Mercy Day. They remembered the strong influence The Sisters of Mercy had on shaping the education of young women in Athy and their work in our local community. Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, devoted her life to the poor, sick and uneducated, and today the schools continue her legacy of caring and compassion in the name of Mercy in Ardscoil.

They also celebrated the beginning of a new school year. The schools prayed that they will have strength and courage throughout the year to fulfil our potential in all aspects of school life. The theme of the Mass was KINDNESS.

Many thanks to all at St Michael’s Church, Fr Rigney, Fr Hannon, Conor McCann (Parish Pastoral Worker) & Geraldine Keane (Sacristan).

A special thank you to the Religion Dept and Music Dept (Junior & Senior Choirs) for organising such a special morning with beautiful music.
