Presentation Mitchlestown well represented at BT Young Scientist

We were delighted at Presentation Secondary School, Mitchelstown to have 5 teams accepted to the BT Young Scientist Competition in Dublin, in the Social and Behavioural and the Biological and Ecological categories.

Aisling Barry, Sarah Lewis and Elsa Delobem completed a project on the topic of “Student Voice” in our schools. The second investigation was carried out by Aoife Leonard, Noelle Lane and Lauren Murphy and was called “Sugar Tax: Did it Make a Difference?”. The third was called “I am Woman, Hear me Roar (Maybe?)” which investigated the confidence of young women in all girls schools vs mixed schools. The fourth project was completed by Hazel Walsh, Katie Hickey and Faye Hayes and took an investigative look at peoples understanding of the Gender Spectrum. The final investigation looked at stress balls and investigated whether they reduce students’ stress or if it was a gimmick. It was carried out by Cora O’ Sullivan, Karina Rest and Natalia Nowak.
