Mairead McGuinness MEP Attends Prizegiving in Our Lady’s College Greenhills
Our Lady’s College Greenhills held a very successful end of year awards ceremony in the school on Friday 17th May to celebrate all the student’s achievements throughout the year. Our Lady’s College has had a fantastic year, and this was evident from the many awards given out.
Students were presented with awards in the following categories:
- Gaelic Football
- An Ghaelbreatach
- Ceist Award
- Home Economics
- Mock Trials
- Young Scientists
- Students of the Year
Mairead McGuinness MEP also visited Our Lady’s College Greenhills on our annual awards ceremony. Mairead presented students with certificates for their efforts in “Making a Difference” for students in the school. The TY students from Ms. Hanratty’s Maths class took it upon themselves to improve the conditions in the school by re designing the school’s bathroom facilities in the school. This project involved researching, costing, designing, campaigning and fundraising. Mairead found the students to be very active and dynamic and was very impressed by their hard work.
The school would like to thank all the teachers for their efforts throughout the year in facilitating and encouraging students to participate in activities outside the classroom. Big thanks also to Ms. Aileen Hanratty for organising the awards, Mairead McGuinness MEP for taking time out from her MEP duties to present awards to our students and to Ms. Ann Marie Nolan for being the Master of Ceremonies.
Below are some pictures taken on the day.
